Tips for Constipation, Bloating and Indigestion






  • Eat soaked linseeds, esp effective in prune juice.
  • Drink plenty of room temperature water
  • Try mixing the juice of half a lime in a little milk and drink first thing in the morning
  • Eat pulses, whole grains, oats, esp oat bran, apples and pears, prunes and figs, cherries and kiwi fruit, all vegetables, including stalks.
  • Take a good probiotic supplement
  • Magnesium helps to relax the bowel, so eat almonds and green leafy veg.
  • Take some exercise and massage the lower abdomen.
  • Good posture really helps, so straighten up
  • Make time to go and don’t rush yourself.


Bloating and Flatulence

  • Take small mouthfuls and chew your food really well
  • Eat slowly and stop when you are full
  • Eat lightly cooked vegetables rather than raw
  • Eat fruit between meals rather than after
  • Avoid sugar, fizzy drinks and carbonated water
  • Avoid wheat bread and pasta, try rye, millet and buckwheat
  • Eat a plain, live/bio yogurt a day
  • Drink fennel tea



  • Eat little and often, rather than three large meals
  • Eat slowly and chew your food well
  • Avoid red meat, fatty foods, alcohol, tea, coffee, and fizzy drinks
  • Try fresh carrot and cabbage juice mixed with apple
  • Don’t drink with meals, drink water between meals
  • Try to eat lightly in the evening
  • Don’t bend down or lie flat after eating, keep your trunk upright
  • Drink peppermint tea
